The Production Supervisor must be thoroughly familiar with and able to perform all aspects of landscape maintenance to include: production, scheduling, customer service and training.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine site inspections to ensure maintenance standards, safety protocols, and client expectations are being met
- Support field crews with problem-solving, technical guidance, and on-site training in maintenance best practices
- Monitor and manage crew schedules, labor hours, and production goals to maintain job profitability without sacrificing quality
- Train crew leaders and technicians on proper horticultural practices, equipment usage, and company protocols
- Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and immediately report any unsafe conditions or practices to the Safety Manager
- Respond to and document any accidents, incidents, or property damage in a timely and accurate manner
- Approve and edit daily timesheets, verify job costing data, and ensure accurate crew labor reporting
- Work with the Superintendent and other managers to proactively address any client issues, complaints, or service requests
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings with updates on crew performance, site concerns, and operational needs
- Research and assist with pricing and purchasing of tools, materials, and equipment as needed
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners
- Assist in the mobilization and oversight of snow removal operations during the winter season
- Occasionally assist in field work when needed to ensure job completion or cover absences
- Support other departments (e.g., Construction, Holiday Décor) as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management, or a related field, or 2–5 years of relevant field experience in lieu of degree
- 2+ years of experience supervising or leading landscape maintenance crews
- Strong working knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance practices, plant health care, and seasonal horticultural needs
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
- Daily proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and landscape/job management software (e.g., Aspire, LMN, etc.)
- Self-motivated and able to set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Must be adaptable, dependable, and able to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
- Must pass background check (including employment verification, reference check, criminal record)
- Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Professional appearance and demeanor when representing Timberline in the field or with clients
- Must have a smartphone with the ability to download and use mobile apps
Desired:
- Qualified Supervisor (QS) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Must be able to obtain Landscape Industry Certified Technician (LICT) certification within first year of employment
- CPR/First Aid Certified
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable
- Additional certifications in landscape maintenance, irrigation, or plant health care
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to lift or move 50+ lbs. (2 persons lift over 50 lbs)
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, crawling, stretching, and standing
- This job is an indoor/outdoor job which will require exposure to all weather conditions, dust, dirt, chemicals/solvents and odors
