Primary Operational Objectives:
Landscape technicians work with a team on landscape projects to ensure client satisfaction, utilizing their training and skills to present excellent landscapes in Colorado Springs. During the winter season, employees will be able to work snow removal and/or Christmas Décor, installation of holiday lighting for both commercial and residential properties. This position may also be required to travel outside of Colorado Springs for work and may stay overnight.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete various landscaping work including
- Grading of site
- Installation of plant material and/or sod
- Installation of aggregate material and/or edging
- Installation of retaining walls, patios and/or walkways
- Installation of rock, mulch, pavers, water features
- Reading and execution of landscape design plan
- Understand the need for and exhibit the ability to adapt to meet critical deadlines
- Ensure a safe environment for employees, customers, and the public while ensuring the work is done efficiently
- All team members help and support other departments when necessary, including snow removal and Christmas decor
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 1+ years’ experience in the landscape industry
- Must be punctual, responsible and have a positive, can-do attitude
- Must be highly adaptable to the kinds of change that come along with working in an entrepreneurial environment
- Self-starting initiative to pursue improvements and projects without substantial supervision
- Must have a smartphone with the ability to download and use mobile apps
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Laborers spend most of their working hours outside in all temperatures and weather conditions
- The position requires bending, stooping, reaching, crawling, walking, and lifting
- Laborers should be comfortable with and have physical and manual dexterity to operate hand tools and small – medium sized machinery and should be comfortable working with digging equipment/tools
- Occasional exposure to dust, grease, noise, and chemical vapors – PPE is provided
- Ability to move and/or lift over 50 lbs.
Desired:
- Landscape Industry Certified in Softscape (commercial) or Hardscape (residential) a plus
- CDA QS certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
