Irrigation Services

It’s fall once again, which means it’s time to prepare your irrigation system for the winter.  It’s important to drain your backflow prevention device every evening when the temperature will be 32◦ F or lower.  Here is a step-by-step guide to help you protect your backflow from freezing:

By draining your backflow in the evening, you can turn your system back on in the morning when the temperature is 32◦ F or higher and continue to water your landscape.  This is only the beginning of winterizing your irrigation system.  To finish the winterizing process, the system must be blown out with an air compressor to remove all the water from the manifold, pipes, and heads.  Call Timberline Landscaping at 719-638-1000 or Click Here to schedule your fall blowout/winterization.

It is important to winterize your system to prevent freeze damage.  Damage will result in an inefficient system and may lead to costly repairs.  Below are a few examples of what could happen when an irrigation system is not properly winterized.
